There will be 16 intensive plenary and "breakout" sessions, covering
"sector-specific" topics, such as oil and gas, metals, banking reform and
telecoms,
as well as more general and geopolitical issues, including Russia's
relationship
with the EU and the United States, Russia's entry into the WTO, and the
juxtaposition
of power and money in the "New Russia." A special focus will be given to
the energy
sector, in light of Russia's growing influence on international oil
policy, and the
current restructuring of the country's gas and electricity sectors.
This year's event is especially timely, in light of Russia's impressive
and unexpected
economic recovery and the increasingly influential role that Moscow is
playing in world affairs.
The programme will begin with registration and a welcome reception on 17
April, followed
by the morning plenary sessions and afternoon workshops and panel
discussions on 18-19 April.
