17-19 ôåâðàëÿ 2004: Àâñòðèéñêàÿ IT-âûñòàâêà Exponet Vienna 2004

For years, Austria’s capital has been an important trading centre and gateway to Central and Eastern Europe. Due to the EU expansion towards the East and its geopolitical situation, Vienna’s importance as a stepping stone to the Eastern European markets and as a hub for the "new" EU Single Market is constantly increasing.

The tearing down of borders and trade restrictions and the introduction of standard rules and directives in the new EU states imparts a completely new quality to this role. Small wonder then that a large number of Austrian and international companies that have been gearing up to tap the new high-growth markets of Eastern Europe have chosen Vienna as their headquarters.

Opening up new markets, however, also requires an exchange of communication and information. What is better suited for tapping the Eastern European ICT markets than a long-standing information and communication platform that offers a true specialist trade show atmosphere to facilitate and foster the creation of new trade show leads and the maintenance of existing business contacts at an international level?

A crisis-proof market leader and trailblazer for the EU expansion, exponet has been of great importance as a hub for the Central and Eastern European ICT markets.

For ten years now, Austria’s most significant IT event has offered ideal opportunities to establish contacts to the new EU states.

Both the increase in the number of exponet visitors coming from Eastern Europe and in the interest displayed by EMEA managers from various branches of industry are proof of the fact that exponet Vienna is the ideal bridge between east and west in the run-up to EU expansion in 2004.

In an interview with exponet news, Wilfried Pruschak, M. A. and general manager of RIZ Raiffeisen Informatik Zentrum GmbH, explains Austria’s truly central role now that Austria has shifted from a marginal position within the EU right to the centre and refers to Austria's highly interesting bridgehead function for the new markets in the east.
