25-26 June: Britain and Russia: Partnership and Progress
This June, Eventica, organisers of the Russian Economic Forum, are holding a unique 2-day conference timed to coincide with Russian President Vladimir Putin's State Visit to the United Kingdom, the first by a Russian leader in over 150 years.
This event, titled "Britain and Russia: Partnership and Progress," will focus on the diversity and depth of Russia's commercial ties with Great Britain, as well as touching on other aspects of the bi-lateral relationship. It will highlight the many areas where there is active collaboration today, against a background of historical cooperation which began with the first expeditions of Richard Chancellor and then the Muscovy Company in the 16th century.
A number of topics will be debated and discussed at a series of bi-lateral interactive roundtables, where conference participants will also be encouraged to contribute. Themes will include sector-specific topics such as Small and Medium Sized Business Development and Software/IT, as well as more general themes, including public sector reform in Russia and case studies of UK-Russian joint initiatives in the educational, social, scientific and commercial spheres.
The conference will also be an opportunity for participants to hear from some of the leading decision makers from British and Russian industry. Keynote speeches will include presentations from influential business leaders, and the spotlight will be put on several recent landmark investments.
Eventica hold a variety of events throughout the year designed to forge closer links between Russia and Britain. The best known is the Russian Economic Forum, which brings hundreds of Russian and international captains of industry, political leaders, journalists and other key opinion formers to London each spring, to discuss Russia's continuing integration into the global economy. The 6th Annual Forum was held on 2-4 April 2003.
