09 ôåâðàëÿ 2006 ãîäà Third Annual U.S.-Russia Technology Symposium at Stanford University
Produced in partnership with the Freeman Spogli Institute of International Studies at Stanford University - the only Russia investment event supported and endorsed by Stanford. Co-chaired by former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry and Russian Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko. Firmly established as the leading Russian investor conference on the West Coast, the U.S.-Russia Technology Symposium attracts leading experts on U.S.-Russia trade in the technology and emerging growth sectors. The Symposium offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain insight into current developments in Russia's emerging IT and high tech industries and how they play out in the global marketplace. The setting for the Symposium is Palo Alto, home of Stanford University, innovative start-ups, and seasoned enterprises. Founded in 2004 to cultivate a transatlantic network of businesspeople and policymakers interested in Russian technology, the U.S.-Russia Technology Symposium has established itself as the West Coast’s premier investor conference on Russia. Conceived in response to Silicon Valley's interest in international investing and Russia's desire to diversify its economy beyond oil and gas, the Symposium has since broadened its focus to the changes affecting the world economy today. With instantaneous worldwide communication, businesses must learn to operate globally to survive. This year’s conference will directly address issues related to the new form and changing role of global competition with the underlying theme, "Russia in the global marketplace." The Symposium consistently brings together executives of leading corporations, distinguished scholars, and policy makers from across the U.S., Russia, and Europe in a knowledge-sharing environment unlike that of any other conference. The Symposium differentiates itself from other conferences by providing an intimate forum for addressing business issues through substantive and interactive dialogue guided by the recognized thought leaders in global economics. Last year’s Symposium attracted more than 300 investors and professionals from around the globe. Over 75% of the participants identified themselves at the Vice President level and above. At least one third of the attendees represented the ICT industry. The Symposium owes much of its success to its ongoing partnership with the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University. In addition, the collaborative work of the event’s distinguished co-chairs, sponsors, and organizing committee ensures the Symposium upholds a high level of quality year after year. The combined background of these recognized thought leaders consistently infuses the agenda with intelligence and credibility.
