September 21-22: International Congress "Eurasian Economic Community - Business America"

The International Congress "Eurasian Economic Community - Business America" will take place September 21-22, 2004 at the International Trading Center in Moscow. The event is approved by Prime Ministers of EurAsEC state-members (Resolution of Interstate Council #148 of 10/28/2003).

08:00 - 10:00            Registration of Congress participants.

09:30 - 10:00            Opening of the Exhibition of Investment Projects.

10:00 - 10:30            Ceremonial Opening of the Congress:
*  Welcoming address by Mr.Putin,  the President of the Russian Federation
*  Speech of Mr. Nazarbaev, the Chairman of the EURASEC Interstate Council
*  Welcoming address by Mr.Luzkov, the Mayor of Moscow, Chairman of the Board of Administrators
*  Welcoming address by Mr.Vershbow,  Ambassador of the United States of America.

10:30 - 11:30            Plenary session: "Climate and strategic development prospects of EURASEC states" (Presentations of senior officials, key manufacturers and businessmen and representatives of international financial organizations).  Discussion of investment climate, trends and difficulties of economic development, prospects and strategies.  Mr.Rapota, EurAsEC Secretary General is officiated as a Moderator. 

11:30 - 12:00            Coffee-break.

12:00 - 13:00            Continuing with a plenary session.
Moderator: Mr. Primakov, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee, President of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce  (Presentations of authorities and business leaders from EURASEC member-states and America).

13:00 - 14:30            Lunch. Exhibition of Investment Projects, business negotiation.

14:30 - 17:00            Schedule of break-out sessions:

             Session 2. Banks, finances, venture capital of EurAsEC states;
             Session 3. Power and natural resources of EurAsEC states;

             Session 3. Power and natural resources of EurAsEC states;
             Session 4. Transportation infrastructure of EurAsEC states;
             Session 5. Information & Communication space of EurAsECstates;
             Session 6. Social and humanitarian sphere of EurAsEC states.

13:00 - 14:30            Lunch Business negotiations

14:30 - 16:00            Closing plenary session. Ceremonial closing of the Congress (announcing results, awarding ceremony).

Presentations of moderators of break-out sessions leaders with information and recommendations. Speech over results of the Congress and the Final Report by Mr. Soskovets, Chairman of Coordinating Council of the "EURASEC Business Council" Association Discussion of the Final Report.

16:00 - 16:30            Approval of an International Congress Declaration of "EURASEC-Business America"Closing of the International Congress " EURASEC-Business America".

17:00        STATE RECEPTION.

Mission:

·            to demonstrate maturity of the civil society, unique investment opportunities of the Eurasian Economic Community,
·            to tend attracting investments to Association countries;
·            to prove reliability and perspectives of the common economic space in the framework of Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC).

Goals are as follows:

·            to realize long-range objectives in stabilization and development in EurAsEC States
·            to create positive image of EurAsEC states in the world arena
·            to attract investment flows to priority economic areas, to realize joint investment programs
·            to support investment attraction and presentation of investment projects to the related participants of the Congress
·            to increase cooperation for businessmen, chambers of commerce and industry, non-commercial organizations and so on, according to investment issues in social sphere and economics of EurAsEC
·            to share experience in using innovative information and communicative technologies in business, social sphere and civil society
·            to increase cooperation within international organizations,
developing common approaches in realization of important social programs

 Investment sessions:

Session 1. Economics of EurAsEC states;
Session 2. Banks, finances, venture capital of EurAsEC states;
Session 3. Power and natural resources of EurAsEC states;
Session 4. Transportation infrastructure of EurAsEC states;
Session 5. Information & Communication space of EurAsEC states;
Session 6. Social and humanitarian sphere of EurAsEC states.

300 leading international investors (investment and welfare funds, banks, financial companies and financial organizations) and 500 EurAsEC companies with promising investment projects are taking part in the Congress.  Participation of key officials of economic ministries, governors, political and business elite is expected as well.  Presentation of EurAsEC member-states and an Exhibition of Investment projects are taking place beside ventilation of key issues of investment activities at plenary and break-out sessions. Participants are most welcome to demonstrate investment projects. 500 projects to be screened out and approved by international experts in priority areas of EurAsEC economy, as followed: innovative technologies and telecommunications, fuel and energy complex, building industry, agribusiness, tourist industry, financial services, trade.

A Catalogue of Investment projects will be issued for the Congress. It will be mailed to 10000 addresses, as followed: government representatives, international financial organizations, leading western companies, banks and investment funds. A deadline for publishing is July, 2004.

A Bilateral Meeting Program will be developed during the Congress providing informal socializing and gives a chance to negotiate directly to related investors and companies.
