April 2-4, 2003 - 6th Annual Russian Economic Forum,London

Plans are now well underway for what promises to be the largest ever Russian Economic Forum in London this April. Russia's recent economic recovery and growing significance as a political player have done much to increase the relevance of the Forum in recent years, and in April 2002 it attracted unprecedented numbers of delegates (over 1000) and speakers (111), further establishing it as the premier event of its kind anywhere in the world.

2003 promises to be a landmark year for the Forum, with President Putin's scheduled State Visit to London in June, the first by a Russian leader since 1844, and significant British involvement in the festivities marking the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. This year also marks the 450th anniversary in diplomatic relations between Russia and Great Britain.

The Forum will open on the evening of 2nd April, with the main conference sessions following on the 3rd and 4th. Key themes will be Energy and Corporate Re-Structuring, each to be explored in specially focused plenary sessions. As always, an exhaustive afternoon programme will cover a range of carefully selected topics in greater depth, including Mining/Metals, Telecoms, Trade and Investment in St. Petersburg and the Northwest Region, Russia as a Global Political Player, Social Questions/the "Safety Net," Small/Medium Sized Business Development, and many other timely themes. A media roundtable on the 3rd, chaired by renowned Russian TV presenter Vladimir Pozner, will feature the participation of top Russian and international editors and publishers.
